What is this hidden agenda that is coming to light. What is this pipeline that is planned to come through Afghanistan.Afghanistan is the buffer between NATO and Russia. Will we ever get to know the REAL TRUTH as to why our troops are in this far flung country.
How right you are. We should never have been there.Andy
On 15th March 2009 I sent this email to Adam Price MP and yet to receive a reply.Dear Adam Price MPWith friends who have sons serving and going to serve the Queen in Afghanistan, I have been following the secrecy of their supplies by politicians and the media for some time. Sieges on supplies to our troops on the Afghan borders are common place. It is also fully reported in the world wide media but - is censored in the UK. Why?Why is this information being censored from the British and Welsh Public? What are Welsh MP's doing about securing supplies to Welsh Troops who put their bodies on the line in Afghanistan. Our troops are being killed whilst supplies are not getting through to them.Welsh MP's are knowingly allowing this to happen. What are you doing about it?Yours sincerely,Meirion BowenMilitants torch NATO trucks in PakistanPosted 1 hour 20 minutes ago Updated 1 hour 21 minutes ago Taliban militants in north-western Pakistan have torched eight trucks carrying supplies for NATO forces in neighbouring Afghanistan in a pre-dawn attack, police said.A dozen more trucks and trailers were damaged when the militants, armed with automatic weapons and rockets, attacked a terminal on the outskirts of Peshawar city."Taliban militants fired four rockets on a truck terminal on the ring road on the city's outskirts and destroyed eight trucks completely," local police official Gohar Khan said."The militants also torched 12 more trucks and trailers."Mr Khan said police arrived during the attack, in which the two truck drivers were shot and injured, but the militants fled to the neighbouring tribal area."Our policemen exchanged gunfire with the militants for half an hour but they managed to escape," Mr Khan said."The Government had ordered drivers not to use the bus terminal for NATO supply trucks after a series of attacks, but they illegally parked their trucks here."Police would take action against drivers who had broken a government order not to park NATO supply trucks at the bus terminal, he added.NATO and US-led forces in Afghanistan are hugely dependent on Pakistan for their supplies and equipment, with an estimated 80 per cent of their gear transported by land from the neighbouring country. The main land route into Afghanistan, where international forces are battling a Taliban insurgency, passes through Pakistan's lawless Khyber area.Militants in the rugged tribal area have staged spectacular attacks in recent months on NATO supply depots outside Peshawar, torching hundreds of vehicles and containers destined for foreign troops in Afghanistan.Kind regards, Meirion
